VONDEE GETS NDC’S BACKING




Moses Kofi Vondee was on Sunday elected to contest the Alajo Electoral Area on the shoulders of the National Democratic Congress.

Contrary to Chapter Twenty article 248 clause 2 of Constitution of the Republic of Ghana1992, which states that; a political party shall not endorse, sponsor, offer a platform to or in any way campaign for or against a candidate seeking election to a District Assembly or any lower local government unit, a section of the Ayawaso Central Constituency of the National Democratic Congress on Sunday supervised assembly member primaries that elected Moses Kofi Vondee as the party’s candidate.

The primaries which was held clandestinely at the North Alajo residence of former Ambassador and Director of Police Hospital, Dr. Seth Koranteng was attended by a section of the Constituency Executives including the 2012 failed parliamentary candidate of the party, William Affum Aniagyei.

The other two contestants; Sualah Yazid Zougrama and Michael Mawuenya Agornuga a.k.a Aboloo were both forced to step down for Moses to run as the party’s preferred candidate or face extinction from the party.
The duo, who are ballot number 2 and 4 respectively, in other of filling have since back down on their campaign models, however their posters and banners are still hanging in the electoral area.
